Our first In-Home Home Study visit is this Thursday. As in 2 days away. As in.....ahhhhhhhh! Must clean every crevvis!! Not exactly sure what to expect. Not exactly sure where all they'll look. But none-the-less it's a good time to do some early spring cleaning. Have just painted all our bathrooms with a semi-gloss (to cover & hopefully eliminate messy looking walls) I feel semi-prepared. And our house isn't a total bomb zone. Well, not this minute. And there are not any dished piled in the sink. This is half the battle. But as any parent knows, this can all unfold in a matter of minutes and the cooking of one meal. Just gonna keep my fingers crossed! I am presuming they look in every closet and room to make sure (in our social workers words) "there are no hidden torture chambers". No, no torture chambers here unless you count time-out areas and closets that are jam-packed with stuff. Most closets are clean and decently organized. The only wild card in our plan for a clean Thursday is Jules room. We love her dearly but cleanliness is not always a top priority. The last time I looked in the closet for a blanket I'd stored there, I opened the doors only to find a pile of clothes reaching my eye level. I gave up and turned about. If you don't know who Jules is, she is a student that attends our church's 24/7 slash Highlands College program. They basically learn everything about the ministry and what it means to be in the ministry. It's a great program. She moved in back in August of 2010 and will be here at least until May/June. We are her "host family". It's been a great experience for any of you thinking of hosting, I encourage you! Anywho, I think if I text her daily to remind and then do a check up on Wednesday night, maybe it'll be cleaned out. :-) Then I also have to do my part. Paul do his part. And Ava.....well.....she can make her bed at least! And God will do His part. Consisting of keeping us calm and not nervous. After all there's really nothing to be nervous about. This is HIS plan and HIS calling on us. He's still spinning this universe and helping us all to glorify Him. Whew! Load off my shoulders that I'm not ultimately in control.
And you, the reader, can do your part! Just keep us in your prayers please.
There are many paths to adoption. We are being introduced to new inventive, scientific ways to adopt and the clear path.....well.....there really is not a clear path. I can see the benefits of all different avenues. I'll post about that later.
Thank you to all the cards, well wishes, love and support we have received from our readers, friends and family! We love you and appreciate you.
